My new torch tip made quick work of cutting out this 3/4" bar stock. I removed this piece in order to inset the round plate onto the bar for added strength.
Here, I am just trying to get it all lined up.
I did a lot of filing to get a good fit.
I sure hope this is going to hold.
I was having a little trouble seeing the pool, but this is a good solid weld anyway.
This side is a little more uniform.
.45 ACP is the flavor of the day.
230 grains of lead vs. 3/4" thick steel.
This was shot from about 10 yards. You can see that several rounds struck the bar stock.
All those bullets fired at it and not one of them penetrated.
